I still believe in miracles, you said, your final words to me on my death bed.
Now that I’ve joined the great cloud of witnesses, now that I’m watching you from heaven, I wish you will.
You can’t have rainbows without rain, but storms pass. This too shall pass, my love.
At the end of what I hope is a long life, full of joy and new experiences, I’ll be waiting for you here, in heaven, in a world where no one gets judged for the color of their skin, for who they choose to love or how.

This is my post for A-Z challenge letter R and for Friday Fictioneers. Thanks Carole and Rochelle for the prompt. It made me think of colors, finding beauty in “ugliness”, and of rainbows for my “r” word. Hope everyone has a great week/day/month/year.
Amen to that
If only there were judgement free zones on Earth as well…
This is a version of heaven I can accept. If only Earth were like that…
I like the sound of that world, if only we could create here instead of up there.
i’d rather not believe in miracles. that way, if they don’t happen, i won’t get disappointed. if they do happen, they’d be special treats indeed.
Dear Anne,
A touching write. Oh for a judgement free world.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Lovely thoughts – the struggles are as much a part of life as the rewards. Poignant last sentence.
Such a shame we have to wait until we reach heaven to experience such a world.
Here’s mine!
I’m sorry she had to pass on to realize rainbow acceptance. This is a sad story.
