Miraculous Monday Moment

Ever have one of those moments where you realize how good it is to be alive? Even though it’s cold here in PA, the sunlight is beautiful in winter. I love the cool, frosty beauty of winter light. Even when the wind is strong enough to blow over the trash can. I’m working on editing […]

5 Writer’s Resolutions for 2015

We survived another year – and another holiday season, almost (the tree is still up). I haven’t done New Year’s Resolutions in years, but this year I’ve decided to give it a shot. 1. Work on my fiction around 6 hours a day (5 days a week). I’ve been doing this spreadsheet to track my […]

IWSG: A Day Late and…

Okay so the official post date was yesterday and it is now Thursday but I was really looking forward to Insecure Writer’s Support Group this month. In my defense we had a minor family emergency that somewhat extended Thanksgiving and also I’m still a bit burned out from all that writing last month. Starting this […]

Turkey & Things

Well, I have pretty much made it through another NaNo. I have a shiny new image and everything! I’ve also been reading getting ready for Thanksgiving. We have a turkey defrosting in the fridge, and this takes forever. It takes planning and stick-with-it-ness. Which is a word, spellcheck! (Apparently spellcheck also does not think spellcheck […]

Once More, Into the Breach

All right, back to work, after a great – and needed day off. Before that, though,I just wanted to say how great it is to read from other writers, which is a great part of any day! I’ve had so much fun reading the Friday Fictioneer posts and am sorry no time to contribute this […]

IWSG: Nobody’s Perfect (Including Me)

I just got back from a somewhat whirlwind tour in Europe, which I desperately needed, and am trying to keep it all together. I have books to send out, reviews to ignore, and other important things I should definitely do but sort of forgot, like my IWSG post for this month! (Is it November already? […]

Back and Prepping

So peaceful…. Back from a much-needed trip abroad and realizing November starts … tomorrow? NO!! I have two novels outlined, a short story out, and … yeah, I definitely needed a break! A few more pictures: Berlin’s Celebration of Lights at the Brandenburg Gate Snow in Austria All right, that’s it! Back to work.

IWSG: Staying Motivated

First of all, Happy Birthday IWSG!!! For the anniversary of IWSG, we’ve been asked to put together a short piece on writing, publishing, or marketing. For my post, I’m going to share some tricks I use to help me stay motivated: 1. Be task-oriented. I am used to thinking of work in terms of time. […]

Wonderful Wednesdays: Pulsars

Image from the Hubble telescope, pulled from Wikipedia. Ever since high school, I have always been intrigued by Pulsars. As we learned all those many (I won’t say how many) years ago, pulsars are a special kind of neutron star, one which emits a highly-concentrated pulse of radiation detectable from light years away. The scientists […]
