are you okay? asks the angel sent to seek and find the lost.
i flip a page, seated on cottony velvet in a quiet nook:
the quiet library at the end of the world.
i look up.
Excuse me, miss. The wedding feast is ready.
And your point is?
uncertain, shy, the angel smiles, then leaves me
alone
with a flutter of wings.

Thanks Rochelle and Dale for this week’s max-adorbs prompt because OMG I want to cuddle that face. I cannot even with this picture! Adorable AND a book lover. Yes, please! I want to take everything in the picture home with me right now. ❤ ❤ ❤
That angel was very understanding.
She is a cute little trouble-maker!
I’m not sure I understood what that was about, but I liked the feel of it, and the two distinct voices
Sometimes all we want is a good book and a quiet place to read it. Nice.
What in the world, or the ending there of, can be more important than a good book? Any angel should know that…
The angel understands that the MC isn’t lost. I love the atmosphere in this, the library, the angel’s task, the voices..
Dear Anne,
A library is a wonderful place to “get lost” in. I can hear the flutter of angel’s wings.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Define lost. Lost in a good book is scarcely a bad thing.
I enjoyed your poetic take on the image, Anne. Like someone else said, the angel knows she isn’t lost at all, except in peaceful repose.
I think she’s about to reluctantly embark on a new life, hence her library at the end of the world. I sense the angel signified change coming.
Thank you so much! Yeah in my mind, she’s the bride and this is her preferred honeymoon is what I was thinking. Ugh, huge social situations. Give me a book and some time and maybe a few good friends. Totally on that wavelength.
I like the voices and the feeling in this, too, as mentioned earlier. I like the idea of an ‘uncertain’ angel. Maybe the angel has gone off to ask back at HQ how to handle the situation.
This was very prettily written. 🙂
A book. a nook, and qiuetness. Ahhhhh.
