It’s against the rules. I’m only here to observe. But, I have to. Running over, I grab the reins and tie them to the edge of the post just in time for the reluctant law officer to jump on the horse and…. He doesn’t really want to chase down the person he’s been tasked to track down. Me either.
He stares at me. I stare back at him and wave.
Then, I press the button on my time machine, to take me to my next stop. I wonder what kind of world-changing paradox will ensue this time. I am going to be in so much trouble when they catch me, but first….
Just a few more loose ends to tie up.

oooooooooooo…. I just got the chills – the things that could be corrected… the consequences…. the never endingness of it…. ooooooooooooo… YAM xx
Thanks so much Yam. Exactly.
So many stories about time travel have everyone concerned about what will change due to the disturbance but you’ve written a piece that has the traveler welcoming the change. A good argument for “the end justifies the means.”
If only such a machine existed, I wonder if it would really makes things better, or worse!
I hope they won’t catch her, ever.
Excellent storytelling, Anne. Oh to have a time machine! The song gave me a major scalp tingle.
My “U” song for the day:
As long as managed to tie up all those loose ends she should be okay for now!
Here’s my U!
