My response to the weekly prompt on Friday Fictioneers, where every week we get together and write 100 word stories. It’s fun – and calorie-free.
A Matter of Perspective
The so-called dentist left the room for a second, giving Tony an opening, a chance to escape. Frantically, he looked around the room, and saw only one possible exit: a second-floor window.
The dentist ran into the room behind his assistant, both responding to the sound of breaking glass.
Tony was gone.
“I warned you about accepting patients from the mental ward.” She shook her head.
“I’ll call the police. You wait outside.” As soon as she complied, he took out his phone. “It’s me. He got away. Don’t worry. No one will believe his story.”
Certainly a matter of multiple perspectives π Tony’s, the dentist’s and the assistant’s. And in just 100 words! Wow!
Thanks! I was determined to cram them all in. π And very motivated!
Hmmmm. I wonder who is who?
Talk about feeling pain. Ooh. The so-called dentist? That was very good.. Whatever that “dentist” is doing, it’s not good. I’d go out the window, too, if I could drag my body through the window. Well done. Great take on the prompt. Lucy
Thanks Lucy! Yeah, that would be the hard part.
I believe there is more to this story!
Me too! π
You got this one right!
Thanks!
Well done. May the patient get far far away
Anne, Good story and really scary with a lot of tension.
I agree that it was a lot to get covered in 100 words. You succeeded beautifully. π —Susan
Thanks Susan
Clever last sentence.
Dear Anne,
You crammed a lot of mystery and intrigue into your hundred words and quite well I might add.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thanks Rochelle! I aim to please.
