Memories linger: wooden tables, a dark-haired girl, and oh, those angry hazel eyes. Then, came the lengthy explanation, why I should give the book to you. You remember, the book I had in my hand, because I’d gotten there first.
In the end, you won that battle, but I won the war. My love, you got to read that book first, but I get you, for as long as we both shall live.
This prompt from Rochelle and Ted made me think so many great library thoughts, but ultimately I decided to go with a love story. Corny, I know but it was either that or write about how hard it is to work for a library during Covid time. I can hardly wait until things go back to normal and kids can play with toys and read books without masks and fear. Hope everyone has a great week!
