This is Friday and that means it is time to Celebrate the Small Things, as part of a weekly blog hop led by Lexa Cain.
This week, I have to be honest – I am exhausted. Between the 4th of July and my birthday and a couple other things I’m just simply wrung out – not in a bad way exactly, but right now all I want to do is crawl back in bed and go to sleep again, and I am actually, literally sort of mad that I can’t do that!
That said, I had my birthday this week, in which I turned 25. (Kidding! It’s a bit higher than that but I won’t say how high!!) Family in town for that and for the 4th of July. I also – because I’m nuts started CampNaNoWriMo with a 70000 word count goal and am thus far on track with that, a little bit ahead because I get twitchy if I’m just barely holding on.
My breakfast just went ding – making toast, yay! so I’m going to finish this up and have my toast and cereal. I love toast. With fresh creamery butter. Seriously, it’s my favorite breakfast food. I’ve actually totally unnerved restaurants by ordering toast and tea with milk and they’ll be like – um – okay, seriously? Yes, seriously. I consider it a treat though because I know a more balanced diet is important, and okay that was only ever in the UK where their breakfast foods admittedly scare me. Like marmalade which is gross. I know, woman cannot live on toast alone, et cetera. But if I could, I’d be so happy.
How was your week? Anything wonderful you’re celebrating?
P.S. In case you’ve never seen it, this is marmalade. Tell me it doesn’t look a little creepy….
Have you not watched ‘Paddington’?! Marmalade is yum – although it is, admittedly, an acquired taste. And you can get it in lemon or lime as well as orange… 😉
Happy birthday! And you’ve been a writing fiend, so it doesn’t surprise me that you’ve been doing so good on that front. I like a good marmalade on toast…notice the word ‘good’. I’m a bit picky about those 🙂 Enjoy your toast!
OMG – 70000 words – are you mad??? I’ve settled on 30000 and that’s hard enough!!! As for marmalade – yum – although I do agree the photo you’ve posted does make it look rather strange and I’ve just discovered that my husband prefers it to jam spread on croissants – now that’s weird and just plain wrong!!! Have fun this weekend and keep on writing:) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace
