Pitter Patter

They like to come out when it rains. That’s when they run across the rooftops and dance upon the eaves. Because they are magic, they know how to hide themselves from human eyes, but the pixies love the sound of their tiny dancing feet.

If you look closely sometimes you can see them. That flash of light when there is no lightning, that whisper of mist which is not mist. Yeah, that’s probably a pixie. I’m just saying. Look out next time you clear out the gutters after a storm. The last thing you’d want to do is hurt one by accident.

………………………….

My entry for Friday Fictioneers where every Friday we write 100-word stories in response to the weekly prompt. Stop by and enjoy, or stay a while to try writing one of your own!

  1. I love the idea of little pixies running around in the rain! I wonder what they’ll do to you if accidentally hurt one, though…
Now every time I think I see something out of the corner of my eye, I’ll wonder if I’ve seen one of the little fellows 🙂

  2. Geez, I thought it was their job to clean the gutters? Their business card read Pixie’s Gutter and Drain Service. Now, I hear they’re dancing instead of working? How disgraceful. I’m calling the Better Business Bureau.

  3. Anne, Good, well-written story. You never know when those little guys will show up. I wouldn’t want any trouble with pixies. My motto is live and let live. Well done. 🙂 —Susan
