Tap the frog to join the fun!
“Oh it’s that boring show again. Mommy, can’t you change the channel?”
Monica has to fight back a laugh. “It’s not a show. It’s the news.”
“What is news?”
“It tells us what’s going on in the world.” She turns up the volume to hear the stock market report.
“News is boring. There are no ninjas at all.”
“Remember the other day, the peanut butter and the carpet?”
“Yeah. Sorry.” Stefanie bites her lower lip in almost-perfect remorse.
Monica kisses the top of her daughter’s head. “Sometimes, mommy needs a little bit of boring.”
…
On a totally related note, here’s a fun Calvin and Hobbes cartoon:

Hope everyone has a great week!
Hopefully we’ll all be getting a few less ninjas with our news now
In the midst of home learning and lockdown, I can totally relate to this!
I think after home-schooling I might take refuge in the most unlikely of past times. My thoughts are with all those who are having to cope with it.
Dear Anne,
This takes me back to when my boys were small. Bored was often a desired state of being. 😉 Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Boring is good. One of those adult situation things – that is one of my very favorite Calvin and Hobbes strips.
I have to admit, I’m watching less and less news. For me, it’s got beyond boring now with one so-called expert telling us one thing could happen, and the next something different. ‘Could’ is probably the most used word in the English language right now!
mom has a point. we need a little bit of boring after 4 years of unhinged presidency. 🙂
I’ve found the more boring the news is, the better place the world is.
Hahaha Oh yes, a little bit of boring is what we all need!
I’m with the kid, news is boring. As the saying goes, no news is good news.
