PHOTO PROMPT – © Jennifer Pendergast
I first saw you in my dreams. I knew you might not actually exist. That was part of the excitement. Other lovers pale in comparison.
Then, came Ostara. Then, came the night. We met across the sacred fire, its flames reflected in your eyes. All that time, you were dreaming the same dream. My heart quickens, wondering: will the reality match the dream? You know it.
Merry meet, my love. And, merry part. And, merry meet again.

This is my entry for Friday Fictioneers. I’m writing this at the start of a three-day weekend and end of 9-day work week, so I’m a bit tired but this prompt brought to mind the old Wiccan greeting, so I had to come up with a story to match. Wish I had more time to write a better story but hope this one works!

A hint of dark magic in this romance. Nice one, enjoy your days off!
We write what we write, and I enjoyed what I read. Stay safe.
Thanks Mike. You too.
Will reality match the dream is a great question for a world in which so much interaction has become virtual
Dear Anne,
Sounds like the beginning of a magical relationship. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Dreams are the magic of life. Nice story.
I’ve always loved that greeting, and you made a wonderful story out of it.
Thanks Eugenia! Me too. 🙂 I’m no longer Wicca but I think it’s such a lovely greeting.
Lucky you..not everyone’s dreams get fulfilled. Good story😊
This could really be the start of something. Whether that’s a mega disappointment or what, who knows?
What better story? This was delightful.
I shall think positively…
Never apologize for what you’ve written. Each of us will have a different reaction, because we all have different perspectives. I, for one, did not know that was a Wiccan greeting 🙂
