We didn’t know when we would reach our new home. There would be a ring of light against the sky, they said.
Drifting, drifting for what seems like forever, me and my siblings, floating on an endless river, Finally it starts, the ships in front of me shifting from blue to pink, preparing to release their passengers into a new world, a world of safety and security.
I see it! The ring of light. I press the eject button and watch my ship’s color shift. Soon, I will be home.

Thanks David and Rochelle for this week’s prompt. Hope everyone has an awesome, creative week!
Other worldly yet peaceful and hopeful. Very nice!
It must be the cynic in me, I kept waiting for it to go wrong… but no, it seems to be okay! A nice change to have a happy ending 🙂
Dear Anne,
I love the way this ended on a hopeful note. Nicely done.

So full of hope… here’s wishing! YAM xx
It’s looking good but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed!
Probably a wise precaution. LOL.
How reassuring to have an alien story that isn’t about stealth invasion
Nothing stealth about it. LOL. Thanks.
A very interesting take on the prompt, Anne. I like how it flows with hope for a new life.
So far so good for them. I hope the new home greets them with open arms.
My “S” Jethro Tull song for the day:
Sounds full of promise and hope.
It’s good to be home. I feel it from this story.
Beautiful short story! Loved that you kept it short and to the point, but meaningful at the same time.

I have my fingers crossed for them 🙂
A lovely peaceful and spacey take, nice one!
What a beautifully hopeful story, Anne. Thank you.
The travellers have arrived. Let’s hope they come in peace. Nicely done!
A great otherworldy, mysterious atmosphere. Somehow it also felt like crossing over to the afterlife. Great story.
I love that this is optimistic and not filled with some kind of danger (course, you stopped in time 😉 )
