Blue Wave

Have you heard the old saying: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger?

Sometimes, maybe. Sometimes what doesn’t kill you leaves you wounded for life.

“Okay, now,” I say, the evening of November 4th, 2026. “Show us the Epstein files. Show us that you really mean it, that we really will do better.”

I don’t believe in happily ever after. I believe in happy enough for now. I want to live in a world where every child gets a chance for that. Until then, well I won’t be holding my breath, but here’s hoping. Here’s doing what little I can.

This is my 100 word story for Friday Fictioneers, where every week writers get together and post stories based on a prompt. I missed last week and definitely wanted to do this week and now somehow Friday is almost over.

Between NaNoWriMo and .. well mostly NaNoWriMo, I don’t have a lot of energy for fiction writing. This prompt and recent history was too much not to type something, however. Not sure if it works as a story. Hope it’s worth posting anyway.

Hope everyone has a peaceful week. Or peaceful as it can be wherever you may be.
